KTI Achieve, in collaboration with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, organizes 2 activities in relation to the Esploraturi tal-Ambjent: An educational Adventure. Aġenzija Żgħażagħ gives this opportunity to Year 9 and 10 students participating in the King’s Trust International Achieve programme to immerse themselves in an adventure that blends environmental education with essential life skills. This civic educational programme, Esploraturi tal-Ambjent, has been designed to enhance the young people’s environmental stewardship while fostering a deeper appreciation of nature. Through engaging outdoor activities, young people develop essential life skills whilst practising teamwork and enhancing their problem solving skills all in the serenity of the countryside.

Year 9 students, through the Champions of our Environment activity, embark on a scavenger hunt through the scenic countryside of Dingli and engage in teamwork activities, including a clean up, to prompt the leave no trace concept. Participants will have the opportunity to focus on and appreciate the natural environment whilst learning to respect and protect it. This program aims to instil a sense of civic responsibility towards the environment, encouraging young people to become active advocates for sustainability.

Year 10 students take part in the Skills for Survival and Exploration activity, a hiking experience that combines outdoor exploration with the development of key life skills. Set in the natural surroundings of Buskett, the activity includes a digital photo hunt, the construction of a bivouac shelter, and an introduction to basic first aid techniques. Through these practical activities, students strengthen their communication, teamwork, cooperation, problem-solving and leadership skills. The experience also supports the development of confidence, resilience, creativity, environmental awareness and a stronger sense of responsibility towards others and the wider community.
