The Maltese Ftira
as an Intangible Heritage Culture
In October 2019, St. Nicholas College in Dingli was chosen as the school to participate in a promotional video showcasing the Maltese Ftira and its preparation in schools, particularly in the Hospitality subject. With the guidance of their teachers, Ms. Charlene Mifsud and Ms. Rodianne Sammut, the students prepared the traditional Maltese Ftira at school, sharing it with their friends. Few months later, UNESCO accepted the proposal, and listed the Ftira as one of the Intangible Heritage Culture items.
